Live Music - Technical Specifications

Access

The Venue is on the ground floor and access to the stage for unloading and removal of equipment is by the Fire Doors next to the front of the stage. There are two small steps down from street level. Heavy equipment may be raised to the stage using an access lift.

The Venue

Front of House Sound

5.5 kWatt system comprising two Studiomaster 2000E amps (2 x 1600 watts) driving two Peavey HDH-3 bass cabinets under the stage. Two Peavey HDH-4 cabinets with mid range speakers driven by a Studiomaster 2000E (800 watts per channel) amp and high frequency horns driven by a Studiomaster 900E (350 watts per channel). These cabinets are suspended either side of the stage. The system is controlled via a Behringer Ultracurve graphic equaliser and a dbx 3 way stereo crossover.

On Stage Monitors

Four monitor sends to four Peavey HDH-M (400 watt) monitor speakers. Low/mid speakers are driven by 2 x RAM Audio MB1500 and 2 x RAM Audio MB1200 power amps driving the horns. The systems are controlled by Peavey 31 band peak indicating graphics on each channel and 2 x Behringer SuperX Pro 2 way stereo crossovers.

Recording Facilities

  1. Recording to Alesis HD24 hard disk system or to ADATs direct from stage is available using up to 16 tracks or channels. This must be booked at least one week prior to the event. There is a charge of £50 plus the cost of a removeable hard disk (most 40Gb EIDE hard drives may be specially formatted for the system) or ADAT tapes for this recording. Mixing may be done at The Studio at additional cost by arrangement.
  2. Recording of the mix from the desk to CDR or minidisc can be done at a charge of £5, including the cost of one CD or minidisc.

Desk

Yamaha GA24/12 desk. This is a 24 channel desk with Channels 13 - 16 used for effects returns. It has four monitor sends, two effects sends as well as four mono sub-groups with fixed or variable inputs from all channels. A pair of Beyer DT100 headphones are available for monitoring from the desk.

  1. All stage lights are controlled from the control desk
  2. Two pairs of 300 watt PAR64s on stage
  3. Eight PAR36s on stage
  4. Three pairs of 300 watt PAR64s front of stage
  5. Two 500 watt Strand Minim spots

These are controlled through a Pulsar 18 Channel Rockdesk.

  1. Side lighting by 3 x 150 watt Microspots either side of the stage controlled by faders

Stage

  1. This is 6.1 metres (20 feet) wide by 4.8 metres (15.5 feet) deep, it is 1 metre (3 feet) above the venue floor and has a height of 2.5 metres (8 feet) to the ceiling. The stage is accessible by electric lift or 3 steps from the rear of the stage.
  2. Drum riser - approximately 3 metres (10 feet) wide by 1.5 metres (5 feet) deep. It is 30 cm (1 foot) high.
  3. Power points - 4 x 13 amp stage front left, 4 x 13 amp stage rear left, 4 x 13 amp stage rear, 4 x 13 amp stage front right. Please note that the engineer or Bar Manager may refuse to allow you to connect equipment which they regard as unsafe.
  4. Banners which have been flame proofed may be hung from the lighting rig at the rear of the stage.

Bands wishing to use a smoke or haze machine must give prior notice so that we may inform the Fire Monitoring Company. These machines set off our fire alarms and offenders may be subject to a £150 Fire Brigade call-out fee.

Dressing Room

Situated to the rear of stage and includes accessible toilet and wash basin with hot and cold water, mirror, table and a limited number of chairs. Please note we will fine anyone tagging or leaving grafitti in this or any other area of our premises.
